The easiest way for me to describe how Spinal Decompression helped me is to break it up into three stages – Before, during, and after.
Before
I have a herniated disc. I don’t know, officially, how long I’ve had it, but I do know all it takes is a well-timed sneeze to blow it out.
So there I was getting ready to start my second week of a new job and I sneezed while I was brushing my teeth in the morning. The next thing I knew, I was lying on the floor in my bathroom. It was the most intense pain I’ve ever felt, my leg muscles were just twitching and cramping and there was nothing that I could do to stop it.
I had been a patient of Dr. Herman’s for a while at this point, so I called and asked for his advice, as I could not stand up, let alone go to work. Long story short, after evaluating me, they decided to put me on their brand new Spinal Distraction table.
During
I don’t want to say that the results were instantaneous, but I was hobbling along pretty good within the week. Within two weeks, I was back at work. Within a month my limp was pretty much gone and my leg was starting to regain some of the strength it had lost.
The experience, itself, is hard to explain. It’s pretty much like what it seems – being strapped to a table and stretched, only it is quite comfortable and computer controlled to boot.
After
Now, here I am two months after I sneezed and I am almost no worse for wear. My leg has regained most of its strength and I have no issues walking or playing with my 10-month-old daughter. I have even been cleared to start riding my bicycle again, which is something that I have been looking forward to for quite some time.
I can say with confidence that the Spinal Decompression table got me, quite literally, back on my feet again and may even have saved me from surgery.

I had a herniated disc in my lower neck which was causing pinched nerves and radiculopathy. After about two weeks of decompression therapy, my symptoms were improving. I was able to sleep, drive and do everyday activities. I highly recommend this to anyone with neck or back pain who hasn't been able to find relief. Dr. Herman and Dr.Hilborn were very confident and knowledgeable with this therapy and I thank them!

I have had lower back pain for years. Dr. Herman helped me with my lower back pain in less than four months. I am now pain free! With the help of X-ray, he was able to identify the source of my problem. I have a condition known as Spondylolisthesis. This is where one of my vertabrae has slipped forward. The pain was so bad at times that I could not even sit at my sewing machine. With the treatments I received, I am now pain free. He also has given me exercises to do to strengthen my back muscles to prevent further problems. Thank you Dr. Herman!!

After spending nearly a month on steroids and other drug therapies, my doctor recommended I contact Dr. Herman at BiCounty Chiropractic. My pain was intense,I was unable to sit or lie down comfortably. I was certain surgery was eminent.
